Billings Food Bank
2112 4th Avenue North

The Billings Food Bank is primarily a collection bank for donated food and other essentials for recipient agencies in Yellowstone County who then distribute these commodities to those in need.

The Billings Food Bank also sponsors senior nutrition food boxes on a monthly basis for seniors 60+ years of age that are living on low fixed incomes that meet the income guidelines.  These seniors rely on the Billings Food Bank to provide their daily necessities of food and other consumables.  Without the help of the Billings Food Bank these seniors would plainly and simply go hungry.

During the upcoming holiday season it is anticipated that there will be an even bigger need for food than there was last year.  We are looking at helping 10,000 or more families during the months of November and December.  Won't you please help?  Feel free to
contact us for more information.

Dear Sheryle Shandy:                          November 7, 2006

We assume your organization has received Trent Stamp’s October 31st letter informing you that for the second consecutive year The Billings Food Bank has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities.

Charity Navigator (www.CharityNavigator.org) salutes your charitable efforts.  Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of your organization in an efficient and effective manner. This consistency in your rating is an exceptional feat, especially given the economic challenges many charities have had to face in the last year.  Once again, congratulations on your 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.

Sincerely,
Matthew Viola
Program Analyst

Levi Britton - Cattleman Feed the Needy

We warmly welcome the "Cattlemen Feed the Needy"
organization to the Billings Food Bank family.

Levi Britton saw a need - and then decided to fill that need by starting the Cattlemen Feed the Needy.  Levi realized that people need protein from meat and ranchers grow beef and have big hearts when it comes to helping others.

In November of 2006, Levi started the Cattlemen Feed the Needy organization which collects slaughter cattle, culls or drys at Pays or B.L.S. auction yards and gives $500.00 charitable tax donation receipts from the Billings Food Bank for each adult animal.  Help us welcome Levi and all the other volunteers that are working with him and wish them much success in the future.
